Senior Workplace Engineer
About the Role
You'll be joining an established IT consultancy in the north of the Netherlands as a senior engineer focused on Modern Workplace solutions across Microsoft 365 and Azure. The role sits in the consulting practice, which means you'll move between clients and projects rather than sitting inside a single corporate IT team. Your work covers the full arc, from the functional and technical design of a Modern Workplace setup to the security architecture that holds it together. The clients are mid-size organisations across Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe, and the work mix leans toward genuinely complex Azure and security challenges rather than routine rollouts. You'll have a strong voice in the technical direction and bring innovations from the wider ecosystem back to clients who need them. Short communication lines and a no-nonsense mentality are part of the culture, so decisions don't get stuck in slide decks. If you want senior-level technical work with autonomy and visible impact on client outcomes, this fits.
- You bring at least six years of ICT experience, of which the recent years have been at senior level.
- You have deep, hands-on expertise across Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- You're comfortable designing both functional and technical solutions for Modern Workplace environments.
- Security is part of how you think, not a separate consideration.
- You can present technical findings clearly to a non-technical audience.
- You operate confidently at strategic, tactical, and operational levels.
- You're based in or willing to travel across Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe.
- Dutch at a professional level is required for client-facing work.
- An HBO-level education or equivalent is expected.
