Senior Cloud Engineer

You'll join the platform team of a large public-sector organisation in the east of the Netherlands as a senior cloud engineer. The organisation is in the middle of a real transition, migrating off its own datacentre and a legacy Citrix desktop environment toward a fully Azure-based, modern digital workplace. That shift runs on a SaaS-first policy and an increasingly Agile Scrum and DevOps way of working, and the IT department is usually the one introducing new technology across the organisation.

You'll be responsible for designing, building, running and evolving the Azure environment, from virtual machines, Azure Virtual Desktop and DevBox through to networking and storage. A big part of the work is setting up Azure landing zones with governance, security and cost in mind, applying containerisation, and owning identity and access management through Entra ID. Security sits close to the core of the role: you'll spot and mitigate risks, keep certificates current, and stay calm when an incident or a complex change lands on your desk.

The platform team is ten cloud, core-infra and database specialists inside a wider management team of thirty-six, so your decisions carry weight and you'll always have peers to challenge them.
