Infrastructure Engineer (AWS & Kubernetes)
About the Role
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will take a leading role within the central IT team of a fast-growing e-commerce company operating high-traffic webshops and a network of physical showrooms across the Netherlands and Belgium. You will take ownership of the AWS cloud environment and Kubernetes clusters that power all mission-critical applications.
Automation, scalability, and platform stability are at the core of your daily work. You will manage infrastructure as code using Terraform, streamline deployments via GitOps with ArgoCD, and optimize cluster capacity management using Karpenter. Furthermore, you will build and maintain a robust observability stack with Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring, logging, and proactive alerting.
You oversee platform performance, security, and cloud cost management while advising developers and DevOps engineers on architectural decisions.
In this role, you won't be handling routine ticket queues; you will have true ownership over the infrastructure roadmap. If you have 3+ years of hands-on experience with production cloud and container environments and want to drive technical direction, this is your opportunity.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience managing production environments on AWS and Kubernetes
- Solid knowledge of containerization (Docker) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Experience with or a strong drive to master GitOps workflows using ArgoCD
- Practical experience setting up observability and monitoring stacks with Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience with cluster capacity management and autoscaling (e.g., Karpenter) is a strong plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly across teams
- A proactive mindset driven by infrastructure ownership and continuous technical improvement
